Every Second Counts – Plain White T'sView More By Plain White T's Our ReviewPlain White T’s are one of those unusual success stories in which a band becomes hugely popular on the basis of a single that doesn’t really represent the band’s standard sound. Frontman Tom Higgenson wrote “Hey There Delilah” after meeting Columbia University steeplechase runner Delilah DiCrescenzo. Higgenson was smitten, and even though the two never started a romance, his song is about as sweet and true as a dedication to a newfound crush can be. It’s not hard to see why the cute, catchy ballad became popular. The rest of Every Second Counts substitutes bright power chords and lots of volume for the plaintive acoustic strumming of “Delilah,” but songs like “Our Time Now” and “Come Back To Me” capture the same youthful sentiment. While Plain White T’s will probably go down in history as the band who wrote “Delilah,” but there's enough emo-pop energy on Every Second Counts to satisfy fans of like-minded groups like Jimmy Eat World and Fall Out Boy.. Customer ReviewsEvery Second Counts (5 stars)I bought this cd last summer just kinda randomly. It was only eight bucks and I liked Take Me Away a lot so I thought,. why not? After listening to it I was so surprised. Every song has something special about it. Since I bought the hard copy, I didn't get Hey There Delilah but I got two untitled or hidden tracks, one being the acoustic version of Hate (I Really Don't Like You). Tracks: 1. Our Time Now- Good way to jump start the album. Its One Hit Wonder (1 star) "Hey There Delilah" is a good song. It caught my attention enough to check out the rest of their music. I ended very dissapointed. The rest of the music comes across really cheesy and stale. No other song stood out. So if you like Delilah (which I do) and are considering buying more of their music, I suggest giving each song a listen before you spend your $$$. Just not for me. LOVE (I Really Like This Album) (4 stars) These Guys may not be as unique as other bands, but they definetly have a great voice and catchy songs: Our Time Now - 8.5/10 Come Back to Me - 8/10 Hate (I Really Don't Like You) - 10/10 You and Me - 8.5/10 Friends Don't Let Friends Dial Drunk - 9/10 Making a Memory - 9/10 So D*** Clever - 8.5/10 Tearin' Us Apart - 8/10 Write You a Song - 8.5/10 Gimme A Chance - 6/10 Figure It Out - 7/10 Let Me Take You There - 10/10 They Have a Great Mix BiographyFormed: 1997 in Chicago, ILGenre: Alternative Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, the punk-pop outfit Plain White T's began taking shape in 1997, a full ten years before the acoustic ballad "Hey There Delilah" made them Grammy-nominated stars. Lead singer Tom Higgenson was originally fascinated with the drums, having served as the percussionist for various rock bands during high school. One such band was Harvey's Daughter, whose lineup also featured bass player Ken Fletcher. Although the group disbanded, the two remained friends and quickly...
