King – T.I.View More By T.I. Our Review“What You Know” was the biggest song of 2006, and with King T.I. intended to prove he was the dominant rapper of not just the South, but the hip-hop community at large. To accomplish this, he did more than just rhyme about being the best — he invested in every inch of King a confidence so immense that denying the album’s largeness would be pointless. “Ride Wit Me,” “Top Back,” and “Front Back” are stadium rap anthems, songs that have the thrust to bring massive crowds to their feet. Other songs show boldness in unexpected ways. “Live In the Sky” is ballad that is reflective without being sappy, while “Why You Wanna” audaciously reworks a decidedly uncool piece of ‘90s club music (Crystal Waters’ “Gypsy Woman”) into a great song. Although King is the album on which T.I. becomes a giant, “I’m Straight” and “Undertaker” show that he hasn’t forgotten the soulful ghetto raps that made a classic of Trap Muzik. Even when he is riding the impossibly monstrous beats of “Get It” and “I’m Talkin’ To You” T.I.’s effortless singsong flow remains anchored in the jump rope chants of the Atlanta schoolyards in which he grew up.. Customer ReviewsGood Work T.I. (4 stars)This album is T.I. way of saying that he is officially the king of the South. The production on the album is nuts and the lyrics work well with the beats Top 5 Songs: 1. What You Know 2. I'm Talkin' to You 3. King Back 4. Ride Wit Me 5. Front Back One of the best southern Rap albums in a while. (4 stars) I really don't like most southern Dopeboy Trapstar stuff but this album is pretty good. The production varies from the standard ATL stuff and T.I. came out with a really really solid album. Plus....NO SKITS some interesting different tracks are What You Know, Get It, You Know Who, Front Back and both Just Blaze tracks (1,4). Goodlife and Undertaker are the two worst tracks due to lagging production but everything else is solid. Stand Up G Tha King Back and Better Than Ever!!! (5 stars) Damn!! T.I.'s new album King is deffinitly his best album yet!! Album after album T.I. improves greatly and he deffinitly has the right to call himself the king. Every song on this album has a great beat and T.I.'s flow makes it even better. Don't even try picking out the songs you like the most cuz you'll probably end up just buyin the whole f!@#in album!!! BiographyBorn: September 25, 1980 in Atlanta, GAGenre: Hip Hop/Rap Years Active: '00s, '10s Once dubbed "the Jay-Z of the South" by Pharrell Williams, T.I. gradually came into his own and established himself as one of rap's most successful MCs during the early 2000s. Like Jay-Z, T.I. — born Clifford Harris in Atlanta, GA — carried a balance of smoothness and toughness, and although 2001's I'm Serious didn't shoot him out of the gate à la Reasonable Doubt, he consistently grew and launched a string of major hits with 2003's "24's." Throughout the six following years, T.I. maintained...
