The Massacre – 50 CentView More By 50 Cent Our ReviewIn the months leading up to the release of The Massacre 50 Cent had become the most powerful and popular pop star in the world, and his sophomore album inevitably lacks some of the grit and hunger that elevated his debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. It was as if success polarized 50’s split personalities. For the second album, the pop songs are glossier, the murder songs are creepier, and the whole album feels less weighty but more expensive — precisely the ingredients that gear an album towards a mass audience rather than hip-hop diehards. There is less Dr. Dre on The Massacre, although a crew of understudies is on hand to replicate his formidable recipe. In place of “In Da Club” we get three sleazy, throbbing club hits, and while “Just a Lil Bit,” “Disco Inferno,” and “Candy Shop” aren’t deep by any measure, they are undeniably infectious. Better still are “Ryder Music,” “Get In My Car,” and especially “Ski Mask Way,” spooky and brooding tracks from indie producers Hi-Tek and Disco D. Such songs prove that 50 Cent stills harbors a hatred that can raise your neck hairs.. Customer Reviewsno doubt (5 stars)50 is, by far, the greatest hit machine alive today. This album is not exception. fitty does his thing again. Listen to "Disco Inferno", "Candy Shop" and "Get in my Car" if you want to hear a sick beat. She shows off his Suave Style in "A Baltimore Thing" and "I'm supposed to Die Tonight" For thoses who hate on my man 50, eat this, he still the highest selling artist on this side of the Atlan Not Get Rich But 50 is Tryin (4 stars) Not a bad CD but with so much hype surrounding it there is no way it would have been able to live up to the expectations unless it produced hit after hit. No In da Club here (although Disco Inferno tries to be). Top 5 Songs are: 1. Piggy Bank 2. Outta Control 3. Hate it or Love it (remix) 4. Get In My Car 5. Candy Shop 50 cent. (4 stars) this album is really good but somewho it got a bad grade (its a C-) what i think it should be is a solid A. this album is not as good as the album get rich or die tryin, but it still good. BiographyBorn: July 06, 1975 in Queens, New York, NYGenre: Hip Hop/Rap Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Though he would later struggle with the nature of his fame as well as market expectations, 50 Cent endured substantial obstacles throughout his young yet remarkably dramatic life before becoming the most discussed figure in rap, if not pop music in general, circa 2003. Following an unsuccessful late-'90s run at mainstream success (foiled by an attempt on his life in 2000) and a successful run on the New York mixtape circuit (driven by his early-2000s bout with Ja Rule), Eminem signed 50 Cent to a...
