All That You Can't Leave Behind – U2View More By U2 Our ReviewEven the most creatively restless of rock bands can't neglect their original muse, a lesson U2 ably learned and redressed on this 2000 album (and yet again on its even more successful cousin, How To Build An Atomic Bomb). After seeming to lose considerable focus in the '90s with such trendy, if occasionally rambling Bono-led reinventions as Zooropa and Pop, U2 reunited here with Eno and Daniel Lanois, the production team that had helped shape them into epochal legends in the '80s. The results are immediately heralded by the return of Edge's ringing guitar tones on the transcendent international hit "It's a Beautiful Day," yet the album is also expansive enough to incorporate the more recent rave textures of "Elevation" and gospel-tinged "Stuck in a Moment.". (5 stars) Ok being a teen most music we're suppose to listen to is cruddy new bands that evidently suck...so I stayed as far away from music as possiable, until I heard beautiful day...it changed me I had to listen to it a thousand times, memorize all the words, understand it completley and know everything about U2 from then on. I love the song's Beautiful Day and Walk On and Kite and When I look at the World. Every Song is worth noting and should listened to time and time again. From the amazing guitar notes of The edge to the smooth sounds of Adam Clayton's bass to the Electrifying Drums of Larry Mullen Jr. to the steady yet soothing vocals of Bono this Album is extremly well balanced and get's a top notch rating from me. I never g BiographyFormed: 1976 in Dublin, IrelandGenre: Rock Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock & roll bands of the '80s. They were rock & roll crusaders during an era of synthesized pop and heavy metal, equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion. The Edge provided the group with a signature sound by creating sweeping sonic landscapes with his heavily processed, echoed guitars. Though the Edge's style wasn't conventional,...
